Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Global Chat Awards 2012! Yes, that's right, it's finally here
Over the last month or so I have been spending time trying to give the awards a face lift to make them more fun for the community and open them up to more members of our community. This year I have removed the traditional awards of "best captain", "best general" as it always used to be the same players that were winning categories, the same for some of the other awards which were only there to bulk up the list of categories.
This year I have split the categories into two sections. The first is a traditional Runescape section where awards are aimed at those who spend time in the friends and clan chat and the second section is a more community general section where categories will revolve around the community on the forums and on other places where we have a community. I have also tried to come up with some cheesy names for some of the categories to replace the boring standard ones we have had in previous years. Each category title also comes with a small description to help voters work out what each category is meant for and the sort of person they should be thinking about.
The biggest change to this years awards unlike the last one is that is it open, so voters can vote for whoever they want in each category. Please take this sensibly and try to vote for those who deserve the award rather than just voting for someone as a joke.
Rules:
- Each member is only allowed to vote once in the competition. If you want to change your votes at any stage please edit your original post.
- You cannot vote for yourself in any of the categories. If you do then your vote for that category shall be void when the votes are counted.
- Please try to keep this thread for just voting, if you would like to discuss the awards then you may use the 5 Year Anniversary thread.
- You can leave categories blank but be aware that if they are still blank upon the vote counting at the end of the voting time then they shall be counted as void votes for that category.
Voting:
Voting is now open from the point this thread was created and voting will close on:

Global Chat Awards 2012 - Categories:
Category 1: Biggest Mouth!
- To the player who never stops talking in the friends chat from the moment they enter till the moment they leave. Nominate that fellow member that you wish would give it a rest for 5 mins.
Category 2: Quiet as a Mouse
- To the player who never makes a sound, not even a squeak.
Category 3: Best. Mod. Evar!
- To the best player moderator who has been a part of the chat over the last 5 years. This award can include members who have lost their moderator status since.
Category 4: The Joker!
- To the player that always makes you laugh and puts a smile on your face. Yeah, they might be a bit mad, but you love them as a friend for it while you share your humour.
Category 5: What Sarcasm?
- To the player that is always sarcastic. You won't find a sentence they say that's not fluent in sarcasm. Sometimes you wonder if you can take anything they say seriously.
Category 6: The Rule Bearer!
- To the player/rank that doesn't take any shit. If you don't follow the rules, they'll be onto you like a pack of wolves. Sometimes you might say their methods are a bit unorthodox.
Category 7: The Lucky One
- The player who always gets lucky, whether its npc drops or SoF spins, you envy this player for their jammy-ness.
Category 8: The Money Man
- The player who has too much money and nothing to do with it. That player whose too good at money making for their own good yet never takes a break from squeezing a bit more cash into their bank.
Category 9: The Exp Gainer
- The player that is dedicated to getting as much exp as possible by any means. To this player even breathing is considered an exp waste.
Category 10: The Combat-scaper
- The award for the player who you rarely see do anything other than murdering monsters and other players.
Category 11: The Skill-scaper
- Combat? The award for the player that only knows of skilling, you'd be surprised if they have ever grabbed a sword and shield and gone to battle.
Category 12: Seeing Stars
- The player who is considered the most famous among the chat. If Runescape had a walk of fame, they would definitely have a star with their name on.
Category 13: A Friend in Need
- To the player who is always there for everyone, happy for a chat whether its just to be social or for serious issues. You can always count on them for the support and advice you need no matter what.
Category 14: Most Remembered
- The award for the player that has left the community but will never be forgotten. The player you most remember having a good time with in the chat through the bright and dark days.
Category 15: Unbreakable Duo
- The award for the two players who are like a comedy double act, one cannot be without the other. If you separate them they feel silenced but the moment they are together, magic happens.
Category 16: Most Useless Poster
- To the member of the community who posts the highest quantity of...well nothing most of the time. Sometimes you wonder why they bothered to post at all.
Category 17: The Artist
- To the member of the community that always seems to express themselves and others in the form of crazy drawings and illustrations rather than words.
Category 18: One Step Behind
- To the member of the community who lets everyone else do the work so they don't have to. They fail to get involved in anything unless the majority has already been done.
Category 19: One Step Ahead
- To the member of the community who always seems to be one step ahead of everyone else, no matter what it is and you never quite know how they are one step ahead.
Category 20: The Gamer
- To the member of the community who is "The Gamer". There's no one else who is quite addicted and involved in a huge number of games as this member. Sometimes you wonder where they get the time to play the huge number of games they have in their collection. If you ever need help on a game, this is the person who could give you the answer.
Category 21: Not So Gamer
- To the member of the community who likes to think of themselves as a "proper" gamer but fails to prove it with their lack of "gaming-ism". To this member, playing Runescape for 20 mins a day is considered pro-gaming.
Category 22: The Globaller!
- To the member of the community who is considered "The Globaller". They've been there, done that and brought the t-shirt. You doubt there's a single global related thing they've missed over the last 5 years.
