This was supposed to be a post on nicks goals thread about him spending a lot of time to fish as a joke but then it started to become a little directed at him and stuff which wasnt the intention so i made it into a new thread.
If you had spent all those hours doing something more productive you could probably learn every asian language fluently and then some.
Even if you spent it irs doing something like making money some other way you could buy two of every item in the game and then some.
And if you had spent it in minecraft you could have built a scale model of 10k out of diamond blocks that you mined yourself.
And if you had spent it reading you could probably read more books than the average person reads in their life.
And if you had spent it gaining real life hobbies you could probably be a good irl fisherman, paint better than bob ross, win some state records in athletics, learn ten different programming languages.
and if you had spent it at a real life job you could pay though college, not worry about money, buy your first car for cash, get a good head start on your house payments, and live a good debt free life with the good college you paid for.
and if you had spent it with friends you could get some good pals that would be there for you for the rest of your life. Not just any elementary school buddies, but the kind of people that would fly across the country in a heartbeat if you needed them.
and if you had spent it helping others you could have made a huge difference in other peoples lives, help feed the hungry or make somebodies day
There is a million things we could do better with our lives. Yet we chose to sit on our asses and play Runescape, Minecraft browse facebook and the internet.
Why? We are all addicts and we are all human. And humans resist any sort of change in their lives. They like their comfy box they sleep in and everything outside it seems scary.
Am i saying im going to quit runescape right now and work in a soup kitchen? Fuck no. Ive got over 236 days of in-game time. Do you know how damn long that is? You could memorize the bible in that amount of time. And to be honest thats another trick this game plays on us. If i quit now that's 236 days of my life in the gutter than mean nothing. If i keep going with it at least they add up to something. I get to enjoy the fruits of 5,677 hours of work on my account.
Don't recommend runescape to a friend. Tell them to go outside and enjoy something else in life.
any comments on that?
